Head Start’s Journey to Becoming Trauma Informed

Brianna Berry:

The Special Services Administrator at the YWCA Metro St louis Head Start / Early Head Start early education program. I received my BA in Human Services at Stevenson University and my MA in Special Education with an ABA focus at Webster University. Starting my Head Start career as a family outreach worked in I was given the opportunity to work as the programs Disability and Mental Health Specialist. In this position, I worked closely with teachers, parents and education coaches to support children identified with developmental or social emotional delays. In 2022, I became the Special Services Administrator supporting the policies, community partnerships, Social Emotional initiatives, and Parent Advocacy. I passionately believe that all children should have the opportunity to love learning. At Head Start, I am able to support this passion through our mission to provide the building blocks of success.
